What is the best way to ask questions of my attorney?
I tend to stay off the telephone because if I’m on the phone, I’m not working. I’m doing all the things that I say I’m not good at: the hand-holding, the therapy. What I like to ask my clients to do is gather the questions, list the questions, and send them to me in an email. Be as succinct as possible, and I will answer all of your questions. You will have them there in writing so that you can go back and look at them again and again if you’ve forgotten some of the answers. Be more efficient and more concise. In that way, you’re not spending money for your lawyer to be repeating himself or herself or to be talking you through something that you’ve already been talked through a few other times. Try to look at it more as a business relationship.
